About Woelfel Law Firm
Jessica Woelfel received her Juris Doctor in 2003 from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law, where she distinguished herself as an editor on the Hastings Law Journal and as a member of the competition trial team. While in law school, Ms. Woelfel also interned at the Alameda County District Attorney’s office and taught a high school course on criminal and family law issues at Richmond High School.
Ms. Woelfel received her Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature in 1999, cum laude, from the University of California at Berkeley. While at Cal, Ms. Woelfel was a member of the varsity crew that took the bronze medal at the 1999 NCAA Championships. She was a member of the Pac-10 All-Academic Team and was awarded the Golden Bear Award for the highest GPA on the Women’s Crew. After graduating from law school, Ms. Woelfel spent six years at the San Francisco office of Sonnenschein Nath & Rosenthal LLP, where she represented Fortune 500 companies, small and mid-sized companies, and individuals in civil litigation and business related-matters. Ms. Woelfel’s practice includes a diverse range of issues, such as insurance, real estate, toxic tort, and employment law matters, as well as corporate and securities matters. Ms. Woelfel also has significant experience representing individuals in family law, criminal and tort matters. In a landmark case, Ms. Woelfel assisted in obtaining a $19 Million Dollar judgment on behalf of three women in a human rights case. In 2008, Ms. Woelfel relocated to South Lake Tahoe and opened the Woelfel Law Firm. The Woelfel Law Firm is committed to providing high-quality and sophisticated legal representation to businesses and individuals in all aspects of the law. Ms. Woelfel is admitted to practice in all State and Federal Courts in California, as well as the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. Mr. Woelfel has represented children with many different types of special needs including: cognitive delays, autism spectrum disorders, learning disabilities, attention deficit disorder and attention deficit hyperactive disorder. He has successfully represented students under tremendously short deadlines, in disciplinary actions including manifestation determinations, expulsion proceedings and appeals. In addition to representation of students under the IDEA, he offers representation for children involving 504 eligibility issues, suspensions, expulsions, school abuse, bullying/harassment issues and disability discrimination. Mr. Woelfel speaks to parent groups, advocates and other attorneys regarding special education and educational advocacy. Mr. Woelfel is a graduate of the University of California at Berkeley, and the University of California, Hastings College of the Law. He is a member of the California Bar, The American Trial Lawyers Association, and the Counsel of Parent Attorneys and Advocates. |
